A follow up of the Mavs drive to excellence we have last seasons two best teams back at it again on opening day. In the red corner we have the Miami Heat aka “The Heatles” The Heatles are known for their consistent transition jab. They beat their opponents down by causing turnovers and wearing them down before delivering that knockout blow. With two of the best players in the league coming at you like a left and right hook, its hard to stand in front of these guys. Lebron and DWade have obviously worked on their in between games and short post ups. But I believe that will get a little boring to the Heat’s and NBA’s most exciting players. I like the kid Cole. He will be a big impact at the point guard position, but we all know the Heat’s point guards don’t get a lot of touches. Which leaves us at why the Heat will fall shirt to a unanimous decision. The lack there of a post up big man.
In the Blue corner The Mavs…
The defending Champs lost some important pieces to their title team. But added some veteran support. I’m all for the vets which is why I still see the Mavs, Lakers and Spurs at the top of the West. The addition of Lemar Odom, Delonte West and Vince Carter will bring more veteran leadership to a second string team that could be a part of a starting lineup in this league. So don’t count the Vets out.
Will these teams repeat as Conference champions? I don’t think so.
